The Department of Zoology, JH Govt PG College Betul, established in 1965, and one of the oldest department of this College. The integrated approach to zoological research and teaching in the last six decades has kept the department of Zoology a forerunner among the College departments.
The department offers a comprehensive range of programmes from undergraduate and postgraduate degrees to doctoral studies. The department is well-equipped with Laboratory equipments.
The Department since its inception has been imparting high quality teaching and research in diverse and integrated fields of animal sciences which is reflected in the fact that the students of this department have been securing places in all sorts of state and national level entrance tests viz. NET, GATE, SLET etc. and placements in industry, teaching and research institutes easily because of its holistic nature of the course taught and academic excellence. The use of technology is integrated with the teaching process, facilitating the display of video lectures from esteemed professors from renowned universities. The department is proud of its own rich departmental library with a collection of 750 textbooks and reference books.
