The Department of Sociology at J.H. Government P.G. College betul, established in 1959, has a rich legacy of academic excellence.The department has been offering Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) since 1959 and Master of Arts (M.A.) since 1989. The department organizes various seminars , webinars, workshops and field visits on issues that are not only socially relevant but also of interest to the student community at large. Students are also encouraged to join and participate in all the departmental and co-curricular activities. UG and PG students are taught using modern methods and are taken for educational tours to various places like Naharpur, Chikaldhara etc. These tours provide an opportunity to experience real conditions and the problems of displacement of tribal communities. The thrust of the department is based on the overall development of the students.
