The Department of History was established in the year 1982. It offers Postgraduate leading to the Master of Art (MA) degree. Experienced faculty of the Department is involved in research in their respective areas of specialization. Research and teaching are given equal importance by the faculty.
The number of student is continuously increasing in this tribal dominated district. Due to the presence of the only postgraduate college in the district and the importance of this subject in competitive examinations, the number of students in continuously increasing.

• Six Ph.D.Students are registered in guidance of Dr. Vijeta Choubey.
