The Department of Economics was established in the year 1957 with the launch of its flagship undergraduate programmes. Post graduate programme started in the year 1965 with the aim of exploring new frontiers of knowledge and opportunities in academics. Various learned professors in the Department of Economics have benefited the students through their teaching work. The number of student is continuously increasing in this stream. UG & PG students are taught using morden methods. The thrust of the department is over all development of the students
