Department of Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry of J.H.Govt. P.G. College is one of the premier department of this college. The strength of the department has been and continues to be excellent in research and teaching.
The Department started functioning from the session 1960 at U.G. level and from 1965 at P.G. Level education . The alumni of the Department occupy high positions in academic and other fields ,related to the subject as well as in other important institutions and Departments.
During the period from 1965-2002 specialization in physical as well in Inorganic branch were conducted at the position graduate level.
Later on physical branch was conducted up to the year 2005 after that four special papers were introduced at the P.G. level these papers are polymer, Industrial ,Analytical and medicinal in M.Sc. III Sem and IV sem classes respectively.
The Department is especially proud of its integrated M.Sc. programme. The students who have studied diverse groups odf disciplines of mathematics, physics and biology come for post graduate study in chemistry.
The department offers, Facility for research work. Leading to Ph.D.degree. The student has to qualify entrance test of Barkatullah University to pursue doctoral work. The student is also required to complete a course in research work conducted by the university.
